I love Olive and Bean. I’ve been time and time again, and it never disappoints. So, last week, when boyfriend M and I had time to kill, we headed down for a spot of lunch.
For anyone who hasn’t been yet, you must. Like, right now.
Decadent traybakes, enormous slices of cake and Rocky Road heaving with marshmallows, fudge slices and toffee drizzle.
We settled down with a window seat (it was packed, as per), and perused the menu.
I settled on the manchego and chorizo panini, and M plumped for the smoked salmon, avocado and olive salad.
O&B always impress with the freshness of their ingredients; as M crunched his way through the salad, complete with soft capers, I tucked into salty sweet Spanish sausage and cheese.
Not forgetting starters; both big eaters, we were both still satisfied with a sharing platter meant for one person. This was the Mediterranean selection, comprising sweet soft-cheese stuffed peppers, warm falafel, grilled halloumi and houmous.
And, of course, the coffee.
Keep up the good work, Olive and Bean. My number one lunch destination in Newcastle at the moment.
